Well this year I decided to go to the local newspaper and see about having an article done about my carvings. They sent a lady out and we did the interview and it was in last Sunday's paper. Little did I know that it was going to end up on the front page of a section called Up North Lifestyles! And to give it a real kicker it was a FULL page! Talk about a UPPER! And it was FREE! If your bored you can see it on my home page under Publications. Plus I went down to the local bookstore and presented my Forever Flowers book and they added it to the woodcarving section! So it's been one exciting week for me. So if you want some good coverage try your local newspaper. You won't know till you try. Krum

Those personal interest columns have been around for a looooong time Cathy, they are called "puffs" and just about anyone can put one in, sometimes, a friend will call the newspaper and tell them about what a person does and if it strikes a cord with the paper, they will contact the individual. They also sometimes have a section called "Meet your neighbor" and its basically the same! Glad you got a "puff" in your local paper, sounds like you are very excited about it! Happy

I know about the puffs. I worked for them years ago but wasn't a carver then. It's great to have the puffs to be able to reach more customers without having to dish out ads like that I couldn't afford otherwise. Just another outlet to share with others that may want to get puffed. LOL Thanks for the congrats. Krum

No question...it is a neat thing! And like you said, most of us couldn't afford the kind of full page articles you sometimes can get...most are not full page however and they must have really been taken with your work to do that! Rightfully so I think, again congratulations Mobster

Congratulations no matter what it's called. That can only help on the commission field as well as something to inspire you to carve more. Thor |

| Congratulations!! They used to run the Northstyles in the Hibbing Tribune. I wished they still did, because it always has some great stuff, like your article. Keep up the great work. Dick |
