Default Where to Get Deft

I see that a lot of carvers use Deft spray as a finish for their carvings. Is it a lacquer, polyurethane or what? Also, I have never seen it anywhere. Can anyone tell me where I can buy this?

Deft is a lacquer. I find it at our local hardware store & most of the big box home improvements centers. Works great.

Deft is also available as a polyurethane, in both a spray and a brush-on application.

I use the brush-on occasionally but I don't like the thick, heavy, plastic look of poly-u so I cut the deft 50/50 with lacquer thinner. This gives a similar appearance to lacquer but with some of the toughness of a poly-u finish.

Bob---I buy mine at Ace Hardware, Home Depot, Lowe's. I like the satin and semi gloss.....semi gloss for ornaments and satin for mountain men, Indians etc., relief carvings also.
Hope this helps,
