Default Genes Tutorials

The fact I have carved many peices now having only been carving a few months, is a testment to Genes teaching abilities. Gene your picture tutorials are the best man! I love using them and always get good results when I do so!

I just finished your hillbilly tutorial, the only thing i added was my hillbilly has flipflops not boots lol.

You are an inspiration to new carvers everwhere!

Thanks again!

I'll second that. I would have given up by my third (attempt) carving if I had not been influenced by Gene's tutorials. Thank you Gene!

I'm looking forward to his DVD. I keep a DVD player next to where I carve so having his videos on DVD will be pretty handy.

Thank you all for the kind words .. But really folks .. I only get you started .. its your talent and determanation that brings you to this point ..

The most important thing is this wonderful art we share .. If it hadnt been me .. it would have been someone else .. Arleen for instance ..

If it hadnt been for this great magazine and staff of WCI .. we wouldnt even be talking here or known about one another ..

I only help to encourage you and give you a jump start .. its this great forum and group of carvers that brings on the icing on the cake ..

just think about this .. if WCI and the staff of this fantastic magazine hadn't gotten started .. I wouldn't be here and the idea of even doing videos would had been only a dream .. If I hadn't had the support and encouragement of Bob D and some of the old timers on this board .. I would have never done anything or even attempted the videos ..

People like Tom H. , Claude , Thomp , Kenny , and so many more were inspirations to me when I first joined to move forward with doing more ..
Now Iam trying to be that for new carvers ..

you see .. its like a cycle with one carver helping another..

I do appreciate the kindness of the words .. and most of all .. I know the videos are helping ..
But more then ever .. without the great carvers of this forum and the staff of WCI .. I know it would have never came about ..

So thanks to all of you who inspired me to go further

Gene
