Default " A Gathering of Tree Spirits"

Hi Gang,
I have put some photo's of some carvings I did on the picturetrail web site at http://www.picturetrail.com/carvers-R-us on the caractures and fun carvings albums. These carvings were carved at the Kapuskasing Lumberjack Festival where I am the guest carver every year. The festival is held in Kapuskasing Ontario Canada every July this year was the fourth year for the festival.

I love them. I have a stump in my front yard that I cut at a diagonal and carved the house number in. I think there maybe a spirit face in there too. Maybe this spring I'll go find it.

That's an impressive collection, Colin! Are all these carvings that all the entrees have done on display right in Kapuskasing? If so where are they displayed. If we get up that way again (not since '97) I'd like to stop in and have a look.

Al,
These are just my carvings and although I have carved two or three for the town all of these carvings I sold at the festival if you want to see some carvings that are on display you should check out the web site or the carving competition that I go to in June in Campbell River, British Columbia all of those carvings and I think now in their 7th year they have about 150 carvings scattered thoughout the town. When the competition is over you must donate your carving to the town. You can check it out if you want at http://www.crshorelinearts.com

Kenny,
Congratulations on your retirement. When I was forced into retirement 6 years ago after a double hip replacement I thought it was the end of the world. Little did I know that it was just the start of a new world, the wonderful world of woodcarving. The only problem with retirement is that I am ten times more busy now than when I worked I just cant find enough time in the day. Enjoy it you have worked hard for it. My only problem is that my wife retires in another 68 weeks and then the vacation is over for me.LOL :'(
