| | Free Patterns Well, at the risk of alienating everyone in the woodcarving world, I am going to post a list of websites offering free patterns. People ask for patterns, and we post the links and then they get lost in the ever growing maze of the Wood Carving Illustrated Forum website. Some of these patterns are for beginners, some are more advanced. They're not sorted by category, i.e. caricatures, relief, etc.--they're just listed. Some have been around for a long time, but they're great. So, when you're bored and need something to do, look through these links, and I'm sure you'll find something. If not, google on "free wood carving projects" or "free wood carving patterns", and then maybe you'll come up with some new ones. If you do, be kind enough to add the links of what you find to this thread so that others can use them, too. Same if you have some favorites that I haven't listed here. Thanks!
Anyway, here's what I've found so far: National Wood Carving School: patterns Amateur Woodworker: Carved Owl Patterns Carving Magazine's Free Online Project - Cupcake http://www.capitolcarvers.org/patterns.htm Free Online Instructions to Wood Carving Projects Free Carving Pattern Package FREE CARVING PATTERNS patterns Free patterns http://www.geocities.com/pearlriverw...s/patterns.htm Woodcarvers Connection Heritage Arts Studio: woodcarving classes, painting classes, woodcarving roughouts, woodcarving blanks, woodcarving patterns, woodcarving supplies, painting supplies Free Carving Patterns Free Carving Patterns from Little Shavers Minnesota Wood Carvers Patterns Index Porch Patterns INDEX page 2 Porch Patterns INDEX page 2 Projects Will Hayden Wood Carving Patterns Wood Carving Patterns Wood Carving Illustrated - How To Magazine for Carvers Wood Carving Illustrated - How To Magazine for Carvers Free Carving Patterns

| | Re: Free Patterns Hi-Ho! In reference to your comment "Too bad we can't keep that list somewhere." Just a suggestion in the event that you hadn't thought of it or for those new to computers who might not know how. When ever I run across a page on the internet that I want to save for reference, I copy the page that I want to save on the web, open my "Outlook Express" and do a "create mail", and then paste the page from the web to the new message blank. Then I send it to myself so that I can file it away in the appropriate in-box as I've done for this page. Now I have both a URL for my browser "Favorites" plus a hard copy of the page so that if the URL is ever corrupted or taken down I still have the free carving pattern websites. |

| | Re: Free Patterns Hey Eddy, I tried your method of saving this thread and appreciate your efforts for us PC dumbies, but I couldn't do it. It started me trying different things to save this thread. What I did was Right Click on the thread and save in My Favorites and Bingo their it was. Thganks for making me think Eddy.
