| | Free Basswood logs. I have a good sized pile of Basswood logs if anyone is interested. These are all 16" - 20" long and about 12" in dia and some larger. I get these dropped off by tree services for firewood. Basswood is a little to quick burning for me to sell and offers little heat value. These are free you just pay shipping. I can split these as well for fiqure sized blanks. I also get longer lengths in as well if anyone is looking, up to 10' and a little larger diameter.

What do you think shipping might be to Port St. Joe, FL 32456, on a 20" piece? Are they dry or green?
Thanks!

| | Re: Free Basswood logs. These are all air dried for about 8 months. All the logs were from live trees. I'll have to weigh a log and get a price later this week when I go to the post office. I think I can just wrap them in shipping paper.

Wade | Hi Wade
Looks like shipping will be about $10.00. A smaller log would be between $5.00 & $8.00

Could you find me a real nice piece without any checking or splitting? I'd rather pay a little more for a nicer bigger piece than less for a bargain.
Thanks!

| | Re: Free Basswood logs. Sure, since these are all air dryed for firewood there is a little checking but the logs are long enough to cut those ends off and still have a good sized log. Every month the tree services I get my wood from cut down Basswood trees. The next time I get some in I'll seal the ends and send you one of those to. These are all live trees that get removed for landscape or construction reasons so they are healthy.

Thanks! Let me know where to send a check, or if you ebay, do you have a Paypal account I could send money to? You really should list a chunk of this on ebay! Start it low and watch it go! There are lots of Folks selling wood there, green, air dried, kiln dried...it's all there. Most of the basswood is small sawed blocks; a nice round might do good! I've bought several pieces of apple, basswood, butternut, chestnut, walnut, sycamore off ebay. If it's green it's usually sealed with Anchorseal.
Thanks again!

Sure, I take Paypal. Putting it on Ebay may be a good idea. The people here can have it free though, just cover my shipping and maybe a couple dollars for handleing. My wife has a digital camera here for the weekend so I'll take some pic's for all to see. This way you can kind of tell me what your interested in.

and I will send you a PDF file of the logs pic. I have fresh Basswood coming in two weeks or so if you would like very green wood with little or no checking or cracks.
