Default Found these any ideas

We are spending most of the in the summer in the fifthwheel in Prescott. We have been able to take a few interesting day trips on the many primitave roads and some not so primitave, just dusty. In rummaging around the store in Cordes, AZ I found these carving and just couldn’t pass them up. I don’t buy many carvings but these really caught my eye. Don’t know any history but thought someone on this forum might recognize the style and initials on the bottom. I believe these are examples of flat plane carving. This style has always fascinated me in that the artist is able to convey so much with just a few cuts. Any thoughts, comments, or who the artist might be?
Thanks, Ed

Neat find, Ed. I couldn't tell you who carved them, but they would make a fine addition to any collection. Thanks for sharing.

Those are neat carvings. Did the store not have any idea who did them?

Thanks for sharing them.

They are great carvings, but no idea as to who did them. Thanks for sharing your finds.

Thanks, Ed

I'd bet that they came out of old Mexico. I used to live in N. Mexico and saw some almost like them, and was told by the fellow who ran the antique shop that they were made in Mexico.....could be, huh??
