I wonder if Plain_ol_ed number 2 son-in-law knows he's #2 and not #1. LOL I have a friend that has one and uses it occasionally, I think the price is too high for what you get. Sean |

What... You mean they slice the bread for you?!? heh I've looked at them quite a few times over the years and one thing that has me curious... They're made left-handed and right-handed. My take on it is, if you want to use a push stroke and you're right handed, you'll need to have the right handed carvinjack... If you want to use a pull stroke and you're right handed, you need to have the left-handed carvinjack. Does this sound right? I find that I'm constantly flipping both wood and the blade to get the cut I want. Anyone???

| Jim.... [QUOTE"My take on it is, if you want to use a push stroke and you're right handed, you'll need to have the right handed carvinjack... However, it does point out a basic flaw in the way Flexcut markets the knife. To use the blade itself really makes no difference whether you are left or right handed. But to utilize the tools that come with the knife, it does. Flexcut really should be more clear in their descriptive literature. Oh, I forgot! You northerners still bake your bread every Saturday night and have to slice it up yourself! Down here in the south we've invented what we call a bakery! Ha! Ha! Sean.... With hardly any effort you can pick up a Flexcut for $99.99. When you can't dicker with your dealer you just wait until they go on sale. You're going to pay between $50.00 and $75.00 for a quality carving knife of another brand anyway so for another $25.00 with a Flexcut you get besides the knife blade, a chisel, a gouge, a V-tool, a hook knife, and a gouge scorp. At $20.00 each a tool that's a $100.00 worth of tools right there. Sounds like a heck of a deal to me!
