I was able to "rescue" this little owl from a local flea market, for 25 cents. It's signed: Carl M. Wikle 10-19-75 It's walnut, and really nice. A neat way to finish and mount a 5 minute owl. Tom H |

Man o man.....some people have all the luck. Every time I go to the local Good Will or a junk store, all I see is Good Will and junk.....and here aren't any flea markets in my area. |

And Fredricktown is only about 35-40 miles from the flea market. I hope it wasn't one of his relatives that sold it for that price..If I had (or can get) his address, I'd return it....It's really nice! Tom H |

That's a neat find, Tom. Why someone thought it only worth a quarter is sad. It's a very well done carving. I'd be interested to hear if and when you reunite the carving with Mr. Wikle. I like how you put your Oar carver in all your pictures. It's done a fine job for you with al your carvings. I like your little gnome and think I'll try one soon. Ed
