Those are very nice, you did really well for your first carvings. Nice paint job also, I find painting harder then carving.

great job. feels pretty nice to make somthing with your own two hands don't it? have you found Gene's vids on how to carve for the beginner? I just started a little while ago too. You will love them. Bill

Thanks to all for such kind words! I am open to any feedback, I have thick skin-Retired Navy Master Chief.
I have watched every carving video Gene has posted on you tube, they are amazing! What a great teacher and a whale of a teacher. Thanks Gene!
For my next carving I am thinking about doing a few cartoon characters, starting with Popeye!
Again thanks everyone for such kind remarks.
