Default First Post

Hi,

I've been a member for some time but this is my first post. I have been carving off and on since I was a kid (about 30 years ago). I mostly give my carvings to friends and family. I do not have any set style or type that I like the most. It's mostly whatever strikes my interest at the time. A lot of you will recognize some of the patterns I have used. Here is a link for a few of my carvings. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Jerry

Nice work Jerry I too like the dragon, very detailed. What kind of wood was it? Bass wood? if so what finish did you use.

Thank you all for the kind remarks. The dragon is butternut mounted on a walnut base and finished with tung oil. All of the curves on it were a bit of a challenge. I had to modify a few tools to get into some places. It's the first of a matched pair I am making.

Well done Jerry. The dragon looks marvelous. Nice design and shape, and Butternut finishes up so nice. Keep up the good work.
