Default First Pic on Picture Trail

Well, I had to try posting on Picture Trail. Pretty straight forward. I posted the picture of the Blacksmith shop. After posting, I noticed just how poor the windows looked. I plan to gouge them out and re-do them but you can see what the rest of the carving looks like. :

thanks, Rick, I hope the Blacksmith does a better job on my hammer than I did on his windows. Lesson learned: do not use a small vee tool to line in the windows. The vee tool makes a cut that is slighly uneven in depth and width and when you fill it with a contrasting paint, the variations are exagerated. I plan to just paint the white lines on over the black paint using a long, thin brush and thinned paint. :-[

Hey, Capt., a correctable mistake is not a mistake, it's a learning experience! Nice work on the blacksmith shop.

I can always count on this group for encouragement, Thanks. I posted a few pictures that will eventually be on my new website. I created an 'Other' album for stuff that doesn't quite fit the existing catagories. In the decorative album I posted another relief carving and a Celtic Cross. The other stuff that I have photos of can be seen on my website so I did not post it again.

Love the anvil and hammer Captain. Interesting 'circle' of projects. Forge woodcarving tools so you can carve metal working ones! Fantastic stuff!

My new website is now on line! I say 'my' new site, it was actually created by my son-in-law, Brandon Beard, who just graduated with his computer degree. Helps to have a real computer jock around! You should be able to click on the URL under my name at the bottom of the post and go directly to the new site.
