Default First Attempt At Basket Weave
This is my first attempt at doing a Basket Weave on a Remingtom 788.

That worked well. I like the theme carried out from one end of the rifle to the other.

If thats your first try I would love to see what you could do after a year. Thats some great work. If you are ever around Ky. bring your carving tools I just happen to have a rifle.

I did two 3"x4" test blocks, one of a basket weave and one of a fish scale pattern and posted it on a hunting site I visit.

Most of the guys liked the basket weave so I went with it, However, the fishscale was also nice, but it was something that most had never seen so I think they shied away from it.
