Default First 2009 Carving....

Well this is my first carving of 2009. I have never done a woodspirit before and wanted to try my hand at it. Been wanting to do one since I bought Skyler Johnson's book so I took a shot at one. Fun to do and I want to do more of these. Thanks for looking as always!

Corey

Hey Corey,

You did a very good job on your first woodspirit. I haven't carved one in a while myself so I'll have to get back at it.

Hey there Corey, great lookin spirit. Heck, they are just glorified santas and you have carved enough of them, personally if you can do a santa, in effect yer doing a spirit, only difference the color of the hair is a little different.

MA, burning and carving is not the same as playing with matches and knives.

Thanks all for the kind words. It's carved on a basswood stick.. about 10 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches or so thick. Finished with tinted oil and a light spray of lacquer.
