Default Fire Hazard?

For as many months as I have been on this board and I still come up as a guest. Well I don't mind if you don't.

I took some diamond willow that is about 4 inches around and cut a hole for a candle votive in it. I carved a face on the front and am wondering if I can spray some deft on the face or if I should leave it natural due to the fire of the candle -- of course I wouldn't spray it while the candle was lit !

Thanks -- Pam

Default Re: Fire Hazard?

Pamela,
You can spray the carving with deft it wont create a fire hazard any more than if you left it natural of course if the flame was to actually touch the side of the candle holder of course it creates a hazard but if its that big just make sure that the candle is away from the sides just dont spray the deft on the inside of the holder. You might want to think of putting a piece of tin or glass base inside as well. Hope this helps.
Colin
