Default Fence Post Woodspirit

I found this ole,I mean a old gray fence post,Id had in my shop outside for a few years. Course it was dry as a bone & kinda hard plus hollow and thin inside and the carving area had some bad cracks and even a knot in it. This is why I painted him to cover up alot of that.

I was able to sand till I got some of the natural wood around him to show.I hope some of the rest of this fence post I have, has better wood in it where I dont have to paint what I've carved.

Hes 8 3/4 inches tall and not all that big around. You know me just something to try in carve today.

Your thoughts or comments as always are more than welcome.

Thks' Forrest

Wow, even the side of the post without the carving is really nice. Thats definately a keeper there. Ever thought of carving one that is still in the ground. Wouldnt that be a shock for someone to just 'happen' upon? !
