Morning gang,
Well done Al if I have time before these two great football games this afternoon I will give it a try. My prediction is the Colts will go all the way to the Super Bowl and win it. No I am not taking bets anything can happen in a one game season.
Colin

Hi Gang,

I don't post much, but from reading the posts, I was able to figure out how to include an avatar in my profile. I also figured out how to include pictures in the posts. Very nice board.

Colin and Mike: I predict that the Steelers are going to take the whole thing. They tried yesterday and couldn't even give the game away.

Never had the urge to post a picture, but all this conversation got me motivated. It worked !!! Deleted it, as it was just a test picture, but now I've got it, just in case. Thanks for the motivation.

you will have to change your name from plain ol ed, to picture posting ed. I like the picture idea, it is really an inspiration to see others creations. I would like to see a thread on The Personalities of Carvers Creations. They all have their own carving personality.

Thanks all I think I may have this picture posting figured out. Now if you could tell me how to take a good picture close up that is a different story. It has to be me because I just purchased a new camera 5.3 pix so it must be able to take a close up better than the ones I posted I guess I will have to read a little more.

Don't know if this is on topic or off topic, but I really feel stupid in I finished a cottonwood bark carving of an old time Fireman for my son and decided to drill a hole in the back to hand it up. Well, I was drilling and thought that is deep enough but kept on,Stupid stunt number one. I stopped when I felt the bit on my fingers,Stupid stunt number two. Now it is damage control to see if I can fix it.

So Colin, Don't feel bad on the picture uploading as I should have known better on Holding a piece in my hand while drilling.

Colin -- at FolkWorks in Nov., we were comparing cameras and picture taking techniques. LOL. 100% agreement that I had the best camera and took the worst photos.
Now, how's that for feeling stupid?
I was told that you just can't take a decent close-up without setting your camera on a tripod and setting your camera on a delay of 5-10 seconds so you're not touching the camera at all.
So ---- I now have a tripod and I'm working --- I'm trying. All I have to do is carve something.
