| | I feel really stupid Hi Gang,
I have always said that the only dumb question is the one you dont ask. So here I am asking. Hugh had to post my avitar for me because I couldnt do it no matter how hard I tried. Now I am trying to figure out how to post a picture here and I am having all kinds of trouble. I tried the instuctions but I am obviously missing something. I down loaded the picture resizer and I cant find that now for one thing. In the instructions it says to look under additional options and click on manage attatchments. I must be really dumb because I dont seem to be able to find that either. Is there anyone that could set me straight on this. Maybe its my age but computers really intimidate me sometimes I have all the bells and whistles on this machine but unfortunatly most of them go to waste.
Thanks in advance

after you type your message in the window
instead of clicking on submit reply
scroll on down
there are more options
there is a button that says manage attachments
click on it
another window will come up
click on 1 of the browse buttons and find the pic you want on your pc
click on upload
if the pic is the right size it will up load
once it is uploaded it will let you know
now click on close window
now click on the submit reply button under additional options
hope this helps |

| | Re: I feel really stupid I have a program called ACDsee
came with my scanner and camera
I think 1 came with the trial version and the other came with the full version
Think it can also be purchased
I use the full version
lets me convert from bitmap to jpeg from art to jpeg etc
can resize pics
open the program then find the pic I want
then look in the tool bar and click on resize
I reduce it down to the size i want it
As I reduce the width
it will automatically reduce the height proportionally
It also lets me enhance the pics
adjust the color levels
adjust the brightness
It is a great little program
I also have it set as my default PIC viewer
I have no idea as to the cost but I have seen it at Best Buy
been a while back though |

| | Re: I feel really stupid Colin I think I know what your doing, your clicking on the little reply button at the corner of the page for quick reply. Click on the big blue icon that says POST REPLY. The message board opens, scroll down to MANAGE ATTACHMENTS, and when the window opens click on BROWSE, this will take you to your photo. I'm going to send you the Url for the microsoft photo program. Its free and easy as heck to use. I use ADOBE PHOTO SHOP ELEMENTS. Got it with my digital camera. Dont feel bad, about not being able to do these things. I had a couple people that helped me or else I couldn't work with these things. I know very little about the workings of the computer, but love to tinker and find things out. I had my CD Drive apart last night, it wasn't working, well now its really not working, had to order a new one. ![001[1]3424](http://www.woodcarvingillustrated.com/forum/images/smilies/001[1]3424.gif) |

If you guy's have that let me know and I'll talk you through resizing or working with your pictures to upload on here. Paint is a very easy to learn and use.If you want yo can email me and we can do it from there. Mike Beartracker@wirefire.com

| | Re: I feel really stupid colin- go to your user cp-click edit options-go to bottom of the page and make sure you have indicated enhanced interface.
then follow hugh's instructions.
with all this help we'll really confuse you,but if your are like me once i've done it i will usually remember how to do something.
also your computer should have a microsft photo editor under programs which will work for resizing
