Default Extreme Pumkin Carving

Goodmorning Gang,
It is getting to that time of year again with Halloween just around the corner. I was looking at Nancy's witch and Al's Pumkin and thought that some of you might be interested in a new book I just picked up. It is less than $20 and is just an amazing book. The book is published by Fox Chapel and is called Extreme Pumkin Carving, it is by Vic Hood and Jack A. Williams. If you havent seen it I would suggest you pick it up well worth the money, these guys are increadible carvers. It has 20 designs and step by step instuction. For people that are starting out it would be fabulous easy to carve and no grain to contend with. The only sad part is that these wonderful creations will end up in the land fill. I intend to decorate my house with about twenty of these this year, make sure you check out this book well worth the money.
Colin

Thanks for the plug Colin...

I know the board is more focused on wood carving, but since it is the season, why don't we upload a picture of out carved pumpkins. With all the talent you guys have, I'm sure the carving will be amazing.

We should probably start that under the 'Holiday' section though.

having my own picturetrail, I can't post on the carvers-r-us site...so take a look at my 'Punkin Patch' carving under caricatures..I have done several pumpkins for cane segment swaps to....but doing them in wood, you don't have to put them in the landfil! err...I hope :

That is a pretty cool book! i picked it up not too long ago.
The patterns will give you some good ideas for carving in wood also.
There was another book on pumpkin carving awhile back...I don't know if its even in print anymore...But they put a small bowl of water and some dry ice inside and the steam came out the nose and mouth.
Fun stuff

Where do you find 'extreme pumpkins'? All I could find in Texas were regular punkins.
