Default EVART Roundup

After a long cold, snowy, soggy, wet, windy winter and spring; I am looking forward to the EVART WOODCARVERS ROUNDUP, to be held in EVART MICHIGAN, June 8 - 11, 2011. This event is a regular one for me. Anyone else attending?

I am thinking about going. I could probably attend 1 day, I just don't know which day would be the best.

Terry,

If only for one day, I'd suggest the second day. First day is kind of hectic with most sessions full up. Second day it eases up and easier to find a session you want. Then of course, you have to argue with yourself about staying for another day.....

I'll be up there on Wed., really looking forward to it. I haven't been to an event like this before and was wondering about the workshops. Do most people bring a large assortment of their tools, or is it customary to bring just a few?
Hope to run into some of you there!

Eric

It depends how you have them organized. I built a carry box/organizer with events in mind. It's grown over the years so I set up at the end of the table so I don't crowd my neighbors.

I've been glad I have all my gouges since my instructor often suggests various sizes and profiles and I usually have one or similar. Besides, I know how it goes; whichever tool you leave at home will be the one you need. Its a rule.

Eric,

I've seen everything at the roundup. Me with a pocket knife to folks with two tool boxes straped to a two wheel dolly. Maybe I've seen more folks with a whole lot of tools, compared to what I normally carry.

Hope to see ya there.

Hope to see you there. I think you would be able to get by with 8-10 of your favorite tools.
