Default Equine Diva

This is a carving of Crystal a mid twenty something palomino mare. We are not sure of her age because she is the only horse we have that is not papered. The rest of our herd is AQHA or APHA registered.
She is my wife's favorite and she has turned her in to a diva, who is not liked by the rest of our mares.

I think you caught that haughty look in her eye quite nicely!

You know Eric,
I remember my pet parrot from long ago 'Sylvester' (Red Head Conure) Sylvester was my favorite pet. I went every where with Sylvester. We eventually got away from the cage and to a perch.. I remember at night, i used to say 'Go to sleep!' and Sylvester used to joke and come off laughing. Sly could say alot of things. My mother called Sly 'the human bird', My father 'the green chicken'... We had all sorts of pet names... Well, i grew up and joined the Navy. I kept writing, asking of Sly. They knew i was the only one who would truly take care of Sly, but i was in the Service at the time. Unbeknownst to me, they gave Sly away to someone. I was crushed, but i understood. I often think of Sly every now and then now. I really loved that bird. Every now and then I can still hear Sly laugh! BTW, Beautiful and Spiritual Carving.... Your friend Rob (Lazy C.)

What a sensible and logical frame for the carving. Of course!

Thank you Al. Several people have commented about the eyes on other web sites that I post pictures on. This past year I have tried very hard to improve the way I carve eyes.

Crystal is a nice looking horse and you captured very well in your carving...I like the idea of her looking out of her stall! Great work!
