Default Enviro-tex habibat question

Hi folks,
Looking for advice - I will be trying to create a habitat with enviro-tex and wondering how to create the illusion of a real deep "pond" while having just 1/4 or 1/2 inch of acrylic layer over a wood base. Any hints??

I have used Enviro-tex for years used to make coffee tables and clocks in those day it was called Crystal Sheen. As for creating the illustion of a deep pond all I can reccomend is that if you were to do a painting of your pond and attatch it to where you want your pond then pour the Enviro-tex over it. The only problem is if you dont like the effect as you know there is no way to get it back off. All though very expensive because I know how much that stuff costs you could do a experimental pond and see how it turns out. Just my two cents worth. I used to collect sea shells and crabs and put them in my coffee tables seemed to look ok but you need that depression to make it work.

paint the bottom of the pond a dark blue or black that way the bottom willn't be seen and look like it's a lot deeper then it is
just a idea try it on scrap wood and fill with water without paint and with paint and see if that helps the thick clear coat will be differant then water but it may give u the look u want
or add a blue color to the clear so it can't be seen through
