| | | Eight Hundred Forty (840) That's the number of members on this board. Hmmmm...so why, then, can I count the 'regular' posters on two hands and a few toes?
Get off your duffs and tell us what you think...what you are doing...what you are learning...what you have to share!
Can we possibly get EIGHT HUNDRED FORTY answers to this post??!!

| | Re: Eight Hundred Forty (840) Teri,
You are right I didnt realize it until you mentioned it but there are only a few regulars on this board. Maybe it is because we have too much time on our hands and the rest of these poor people have a job to go to. Having said that I am sure that even if this is so they must have a few minutes a week to share some ideas with us.
I at the moment have been laid up with a hernitated disk and have been reduced to carving some smaller stuff. At the moment I am working on some really cool bark carvings but I think maybe this week I will try a santa. If it works out not bad I will post it but if it a dud you will never see it.

Let's make this a time for every one to at least say hi. I think it would be fun to see how many replies we can get the counter up to. In fact I will pick a number from 20 - 500 and send that person a free Stubai or Auriou mallet tool. It will be a little insentive to get people to post. I will send you a private message with the lucky number.

| | | Re: Eight Hundred Forty (840) Hello! I'm still here. I don't write enough on this board, but I really do appreciate everything I learn here. I want to thank all of the 'regulars' and everyone else here for their contributions. I rarely feel that I have much to add to the converstaions, because by the time I read through them, all my questions have been answered and the comments I would make are already made! hhehehehehe I guess I'm just not very original
Just standing up to be counted! : 8)

| | | Re: Eight Hundred Forty (840) Didn't realize there were that many registered, but would bet a majority are no longer on, have moved, changed email or whatever, and probably a good number were new and tried woodcarving but didn't like it or didn't have Rick as an instructor LOL. |

| | Re: Eight Hundred Forty (840) LOL, I think if you're a regular on this board, you do sort of have Rick as an instructor.
There certainly are a lot of members with zero posts also!
I agree with Teri, just say hello and tell everyone what you're working on.
Chris.
P.S. Colin, I haven't been on the board very much lately, so I'm a bit behind. Sorry to hear about the herniated disk (ouch). Hope you're back up those old trees letting the spirits out very soon.

| | | Re: Eight Hundred Forty (840) Good idea, Dale - let's keep an eye on this one and see if anyone reaches the 'magic number' in Dale's head!! It is FAR less than 840, so somebody might just get free stuff!
Colin, I hope your recovery goes well - as for working on smaller stuff, though....I'm thinking smaller stuff to you is anything less than 6 feet or so...are you recuperating on a ladder??

| | | Re: Eight Hundred Forty (840) Oh, yeah, that's 'unique' replies....repeat repliers will only be counted once :-)
Callynne, I did go back and check how many Santas I've carved this year so far....that would be 178. It would take a few years to carve as many as 840!

| | | Re: Eight Hundred Forty (840) I don't post often either but I do enjoy the banter (and education) I get from you all, thanks so much for sharing!
I got four blue ribbons this weekend and a reserve champion. I intend to post some pictures for you, but I am 'frugal' (just plain cheap) and am trying to get a Kodak digital camera on ebay so I can put images on right away without having to develop and get a disc (no scanner either) to put pictures on. Either way, I will post pictures eventually.
