Default easy Honey bear

Ive been on a work detail of tons of honey-do's since my art show. Seeing I have a little break in getting more carvings ready for my next show, the wife keeps me busy!!:::Lord does she::::

Heres a quick 30min whittling of a honey bear that sits up,just something to say Ive carved something! LOL I know you know how that is to feel chips flying in your face and if I dont have that,Im not a happy camper.

Hes 1 3/4 X 2 3/4 inches.Finished him with some feed-n-wax. Not going to paint him,to tell you the truth,I kinda hate carving wood then covering it up with paint. This one is just something I wanted to do but people do love colors.

Hope you enjoy this little honey bear, your thoughts or comments are more than welcome. Thks the olddddddddddddd man-with a knive in his hand, trying to do the best he can! Forrest

Hi Forrest I was wondering where you were. What a cute lil bear you have there. I like the natural look also. How did the show go? Didja have a sell out?

Nice Forrest! And I thought I was the only one that hated painting--I like the look of carved natural wood--maybe with a little highlighting like what I do with the eyes and noses on the teddy bears. And it's quick and easy, too!

Thanks for posting!

Marcia,It turned out pretty good at the show,Sat is was 70% chance of raining but didnt then Sunday at 5pm sharp we could see the storm coming over the Roan{a mtn} and it hit with strong winds and hail the size of a nickel. Even with my Z-Up tent with iron post on all four corners,I had to hold the tent for 45mins so it wouldnt blow away.

Several people did loose thier tents.I only sold two carvings Sat but they was my most costly ones and on Sunday I only sold larger tems as well. I didnt sell any of the smaller carvings nor any of the pencils Id worked on the wk of the show. {{Strange}} Course getting wet that Sunday packing up,I got sick all last wk,went again to the VA spending 3 1/2 hrs there Sat and now Im take 5 new meds. Think I will carve me a bottle of some meds for my next project!! LOL Thks for your nice thoughts about this little bear Marcia

Forrest, Great little project, that honey bear! I'll give it a try, smaller of course. Man I understand what you said about the EZ UP tent in the winds. Hang on. If the wind gets too bad, and you arn't holdin the thing down, the struts will bend and the tent is ruined. Several weeks ago I fought the same thing. Glad to hear that you're selling some carvings. While we don't get rich, it does put an extra shine on things. Thanks for sharing.

Neat little project Forrest. Sorry you didn't move more stuff at the show. Hope your feeling better now. How could those pencils not sell?

The honeybear looks great. I like the pic you posted of your tent. How long did it take to carve the guy in shorts with the hat and cane? I doctor at the VA up here, so I know exactly where your're coming from. Hope you feel better soon.
