Just put some thoughts on the blog (carving philosophy) about recent ideas I've had. Some might find it useful,, some will think it silly. But somehow it seems to work if given a chance. Think about it. I had more to say ,, but it's already 2:35 and I've been going since 7:00 AM. Call me a slacker,, but I've had enough for one day. Ahhhh,, the life of a woodcarver.Tomorrow is soon enough.

Mark, I spent some time at your blog. I enjoyed reading your thoughts and found them a big help. I'll be back again. Your work around your shop looks really good. Thanks for sharing with us. Carl |

Well thank you Carl. I'm glad to hear you found them helpful. They might be a little odd at first read as they might not be what is the norm. But somewhere in there is a grain of truth and if it helps , so much the better. The basic principles seem to work overall for Doris and me. Thanks for the kudo's as well for my studio shots. Since then it has changed quite a bit with all the flowers in bloom,,hanging baskets etc. Nothing like a splash of color and seeing things fill out. Happy to share. |

Thanks Mark for the thoughts in your blog, I am one of those who want to see the details to soon and pay for it later when I realize my mistakes'Thanks Alice

You're welcome Alice. And I meant no harm with my comments about Doris doing the tutorials. I was only stressing a point that even though it may 'look' easy for us to carve something,, it still takes quite a bit of work and time,,,especially a tutorial. But we take what we do seriously while having fun doing it. Thanks again for visiting us. |

I liked your thoughts on carving the form before the details. I have been trying to convey this to some carvers in my club but you said it much better than I could. I'm sending them a link to your site. Thanks for the tips, Dan |
