Default Eastern Red Cedar Bust

I've been busy but have not had photos ready to post. This piece is 3/4 life size. It was a nice big chunk of cedar I had in my basement for almost 20 years, I had forgotten it was there. i had a little checking across the top. Finished off with Linsed oil, Waterlox (tung oil) and Watco satin wax.

Nicely done, John. Difficult subject, difficult wood. I like how you left the sapwood facet, lower right.

You did an excellent work of art to be sure. You have also taught a lesson in using a chunk of wood most would have thrown out or burned.

Beautiful job John. I love how the eyes are focused looking up and that finish turned out really well.
