Default Eagle killing rattle snake

I don’t normally paint my carvings I usually stain or tint them. I had to paint this one the cherry log had some major defects that I had to fill and scab. I am donating this to a charity auction the Fire Department does yearly. I was working on it last Sunday a man stopped and wanted to buy it I told him to bid on it. My next project will be a standing gator stirring a gumbo pot I have a nice white oak log just slightly over 4’ tall.

Great carving Don, I like it alot! Bald Eagles are one of my favorite birds and we often go 'birding' to watch them here on the Northern Pacific Sound... You amaze me with your carving, especially since I know that you use grinders, and BIG power tools...another great creation and know the men and women at your Fire Department appreciates your kind donation!!! Keep the chips fly'n and save carving to you!

Terrific carving Don. Is that the WIP you began and didn't get back to for awhile? A few cracks developed in that one eh? Still turned out well and the paint job is top notch. Joe.
