| | Eagle feather finished "and" installed! Finally got around to finishing the Eagle Feather I was attempting. Light as a real one, though not as nice, it will do. It is carved in Butternut.

| | Re: Eagle Feather finished and installed Finished....."installed" the feather in it's proper place, the tip wrapped in deer hide, and seccured with copper, tarred marlin and attached with rawhide. Knot secured with clear fingernail polish, an old ship modellers trick, will never slip.
Ahh....now "that's" a cane!

| | Re: Eagle feather finished Nice job Bob. I'm taking a break from working on my cane - started into a big piece of apple wood to do another wood spirit. Your feather looks very real and adds a nice touch to the cane.

| | Re: Eagle feather finished I love the eagle cane and what makes it unique to me is all of the components that you carved, tied, or wedged into making it complete. Hardly just a simple sit down and carve it outa one piece of wood then calling it "done".
That cane will catch the eyes of a lot of curious people. Thanks for showing it! |

| | Re: Eagle feather finished Bob you've really captured the essence of the feather. It looks SO real!!!
I didn't realize you were going to put it on an eagle head stick. Wow! Hope you're not in a hurry if you go out with it, you'll be stopped by everyone you pass!
Incredible work! I'm speechless! Wow!
