Default Dragon Stick finished!

I was given a poplar stick at the Townsend Tn. show by Ed Lampert's wife. I had mentioned needing a stick for our show theme this year. And She brought me one in on Sunday Morning. (she had cut two and Ed had already carved one)

I am trying to come up with something original and unusual for our Show Theme ($100 first place). My first attempt is a dragon wrapping around the stick. I don't normally paint, but this poplar was so nasty looking with just oil. It has a lot of black mineral stain which is common with poplar.

It is approx 60" tall and 2" at the top, tapering to 1 1/4" at the bottom.

That's one nice Dragon Stick John! It's certainly a winner in my book...I really like the way you carved the dragon wrapped around the stick like you did.
Very nice, very nice indeed!
