Default Dollywood Show Fun

I just got back from a weekend full of fun, fellowship, and woodcarving with a great bunch of people at the Dollywood woodcarving show. In attendance were well known carvers such as Don Mertz, Gary Falin, Bart Wilson, Mitchell Cartledge, Mark Akers, Mike Sullins, Wayne Shinlever, and Dylan Goodson. What a great bunch of carvers!!

A big THANK YOU goes out to Don Mertz for sharing his huge knowledge of woodcarving with us! It was a pleasure to get to see his work and spend some time talking shop with him! What a great guy!!

Also, Congratulations goes out to our very own Dylan Goodson for winning Best of Show for his relief carving of his old home place. What a wonderful piece of work!

Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures to share as I forgot my camera. I'm hoping that Mark Akers will have some great pictures to share with the board! If you ever get a chance you should try to attend!

Blake

Charlotte is always a good time as well! (Its in February)

Yeah, Dave I resemble that remark, I too am hoping for Hickory. I guess it depends on what the Ortho doc says about my shoulder (oh joy!).

I'm hoping to make it to the Hickory, NC show as well. Glad to see so many are going to be there. I need to inspire myself to get up at 4:00 am to make the drive to get there though....makes me yawn just to think of it.
