Bellevue, Ohio is about an hour away, near Sandusky. We have a bunch of woodcarvers in our area.

I do, cleveland east side.

There are a couple of carving clubs around. One that meets at woodcrafters and one that meets at the Rockler store (also called the wordworkers shop I think, in Parma).

Both stores have carving clubs and offer carving related classes now and then they also carry carving tools. I must admit that I have never managed to make it to any of the club meetings or classes so I can't tell you much about them

You can get the class info from the websites, view the local store information to find it... But you will have to go to the store or call for the carving club information.
