| | Do you worry about spelling mistakes? Hi Gang,
Just recieved this and thought it would be fun to share. It doesnt have anything to do with woodcarving except that there are times when I cant spell a word so I use another one that I know how to spell. After you read this you will never worry about your spelling again.

Enjoy, have fun and ![004[1]1](http://www.woodcarvingillustrated.com/forum/images/smilies/004[1]1.gif) Thanksgiving to all!!!! |

| | Re: Do you worry about spelling mistakes? At one time, I could spell almost anything without thinking about it. Its a different story now, like Colin, when I come cross a big word like, marmalade for instance, I use the word jam instead. |

| | Re: Do you worry about spelling mistakes? And my grandkids, who know far more about computers and internet than I ever will, tell me it's not 'cool' to spell check emails--unless they are for business. So not wanting to be an 'uncool' granny, I try to follow their lead...at least on this issue.
Have a great Thanksgiving everyone.

| | Re: Do you worry about spelling mistakes? Donna T, I have been in the Computer field for 35 + years and that has been correct. Funny how, I wish now, that I paid more attention in school. Correct spilling in E-mails in a business is a must. BUT,,, It is equally funny when a supervisor has to have is assistant to go over his e-mails for proper spilling. Guess he doesn't know about spell checkers. Kind of like what Colin posted, If you get the gist of the message, I really don't play much attention to the spilling, if ya catch me drift.
BTW, did you make the Topeka Carving show last weekend. I didn't, the little bride wanted to go to Joplin to their big craft fair in the John HammonCenter. Had a nice time and picked up some s but would have much rather attended the Carving show. Hmmmm, Maybe the Craft show saved her some money!!!! : It didn't me! :'(
Best to you. |

| | Re: Do you worry about spelling mistakes? Hello Kenny,
No, I didn't make the fall Kansas shows. This is my busy time of the year with term papers to grade to get ready to finish the semester---plus enrollment time for the next semester. But I'm hoping to make the Topeka show in the spring. How does it compare to the Tulsa show?
The list of things I want to get carved seems to get longer, too. That 'round tuit' just doesn't get here fast enough! I took a bird carving class at the Pleasant Hill Knot Hole two weeks ago and I hit a deer on the way--just a couple of miles from our house. I wasn't hurt-but it sure did the damage to the car. This was the 5th single deer I've creamed with a vehicle. This time of the year is a bit dangerous for me! At least I don't have to have a license to hunt the little critters the way I bag them!
Good wishes...
Donna T

| | Re: Do you worry about spelling mistakes? Know Miss Steaks
I have a spelling chequer,
It came with the pea sea.
It never makes a miss steak,
knot even too or three.
I ran this poem threw it,
Two sea how it would go.
It had know miss steaks,
My chequer told me so. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
