I sign my pieces, and date, and put my zip code on them. Shorter than town, state, but might be a means of locating the carver!!
Bette
PS If I could start over, I would number them as well, but since I can't will just keep carving them!!

I admit that I have been remiss in signing all my work. I sign what I think is good I sign and date something that is sold. On a few pieces that were of sufficient size, I have inset a quarter or dime of the year that I carved the item in the bottom. It's unique. For the signature, I use a fine-line black marker. Pam

I own a few pieces form other carvers and I notice that the signature sometimes run off. Whe I sign my carvings (date, number) I seal it. I put a layer of clear sealent on top of the signature to keep it from running off.
I have a pic I want to share.
Where was the place you guys post pics of carvings??

I also do sign and date my pieces with fine point marker and absolutly like the idea of numbering them with year made, and will start to do so today, especially since I can still count to ten, (thats all the pieces I've done) have sold one, guess that one will get skipped over.

For Deol A. on the pictures, you can post your pictures up on www.picturetrail.com the login name is carvers-r-us, password is carve, you shoul be able to follow instructions on how to load in a picture. goodluck
