I'm doing a carving of a bear crossing a stream on a log and wondered how to make the water look real Feb.

Most use a poly resin , a epoxy that you can get in quart size at Ac moores , and other craft stores. Lynn takes about it in his bog and Bob Squbrigg has a post about a year ago about doing water for a ship he was doing . Ash |

It wasn't clear from your question what type of carving you want to include the water in. If it's a relief, I suggest the following: use a veiner (v tool) to make small, curving, cuts - deeper in the foreground, shallower in back. See the thumbnail below: kayakers.jpg |

Thanks for your help, I did pm lynn and she said if it wasn't a big project i could use a 50-50 epoxy. My friend had some of that envirotex, HI-HO and that's what i used looks nice. will post on my picture trail in a few minutes. Feb

I use Envirotex and a straw and blow gently on the medium which causes waves and looks like water |
