Default What do you listen to?

Hey all...

I'm interested to know what music (or other stuff) you listen to while carving... be specific!

Cool Re: What do you listen to?

When I am carving or using the scroll saw I listen
to oldies (from the 50's,60's and 70's.)

I usually listen too, or for, my wife's instructions filtering down the stairs to my basement lair!

I have about everything that Roger Whittaker has made and usually have one of his discs playing. But, having been in high school and college in the late 50's and early 60's, I have a large collection of folk music that seems to go with woodcarving. If I don't want to fool with changing the disk/cassette, then I tune the satellite TV to a classical channel and am happy with that. One of these three will be going while I am in my carving room.

Well, actually, Sponge Bob is very popular, I know all the words now and that tune haunts me sometimes....hmmmmm, is haunts another way of saying 'drives me crazy'?!!

When the grandson, nephew or niece don't have the TV on I usually just turn on the radio (it takes one of them about fifteen minutes to notice I've turned it off again...hey....no one is watching it!) The station plays a mix of oldies and newer songs. That's what I like the best. No country stations (have you ever noticed they come in clearer than any other stations??), although, I admit, I do like the 'cross over' county songs but definitely no rap, no way!!

It does drive hubby crazy, because I'm one of these people who always wants music on, he feels I can't appreciate quiet. I can, it's just when I'm doing something besides sleeping I want some music to help move me along and pick up the pace, a good song sure can do that! Callynne

It depends on what mood I am in Elton John is definatly my favorite but I am very diversified in the music I listen to. I usually like the slow songs but I also like to listen to Guns and Roses, Green Day, Kiss and others. I have been know to listen to some pretty heavy stuff from time to time. I do like some of the rap stuff what I dont like is the profanity and drug and gangster message's in songs. I have been known to listen to country on occasion as I have said it depends on my mood. What I dont like is Classical music or Opera sorry just don't have an ear for that. This is a great subject Deborah they say you can tell a whole lot about a person by the music they listen to. So having looked at what I like you must have a pretty mixed picture.

Well, I have a CD jukebox that will hold about 300 CD's (currently have just over a hundred). But my taste ranges to all types. One minute I can be listening to Johnny Cash, the next I'll be listening to the soudtrack from a musical, or later maybe a collection of blues, or even some Sinatra or Dean Martin. I can listen to Queen, ELO, Enya, Marvin Gaye, Clint Black, Leann Rhimes, Alan Jackson, Oldies, The Platters, just about anything.

Also, my other half bought me a portable DVD player for my Bday so instead of music I'll maybe have some Charlie Chan, Bogart, or other adventure playing for my viewing pleasure.
