At home in my basement shop. My son calls it my cave I am very content to spend 6-8 hours there on a saturday, Sunday or an hour or two on week nights, however, I have been experienceing much pain in my shoulders and neck for about a month so i haven't done much carving. Occasionally I carve upstairs in my lazyboy with my apron with the pounch on it, works well but I like to be in the shop.Corey

Roughing out is done in my carving room, as is sanding and micromotor detailing (need the dust collector running for that!). Handcarving is done at my portable carving table, in the livingroom. Painting is done there too, setting in my recliner, watching television (sort of!) and spending time with the hubby! Deborah

Diner in town every morning for 1 1/2 hours. Upstairs spare bedroom several hours a day. Spare bedroom has computer and a carving bench (and a bed for the occassional nap). My shop is just too depressing to carve in. It's depressing because of the mess it's in.......that's another story! Several years ago I lost my table saw in the shop. Had to clean the place to find it. It's time to clean again. Tom-H |

I'm a bachelor so I get to set up my carving bench in the living room. I do my messy roughing on the balcony.

I have a corner shop in my garage, where I do alot of carving, especially if I'm sawing our using the dremel. Sometimes I do it in my recliner with a towel over my lap. I put all my tools in a little bucket. Sometimes I do it on my desk downstairs in the office.

I do a lot of it at the dinner table in our dining room. It's a good thing we eat in the Kitchen! My wife don't mind either, as long as I clean up my mess. I'm hoping to get some gift cards for Lowes so I can work on closing a portion of my garage to make my shop! We'll see! Blake |

I probably do 50% in my recliner during fall/winter/spring. 25% outside in good weather, and 25% away from home at a workshop or carve-in. I have a lap box to catch most of the chips when I'm in the recliner--my chair has wood chips under it--hubby has tater chips under his. But I'm the one who does all the cleanup--so it's ok. Donna_T

Since we live in an apartment, pretty much everything I do gets done in the garage space we rent. Thankfully, our management is okay with everything that goes on in there. Well, at least the stuff they know about.
