Default Do not go gentle into that good night

Well i have finished my twistie. original thread here
Oh look, another twistie..........
its the first pic if you don't want to read it all.

I kalrosed the first line of Dylan Thomas's poem:- Do not go gentle into that good night onto the shaft and the name on the thumb V and first line around the twist. Only thing is i translated it into runes. (hobbit/old english)
My only criticism is the printout looked bolder than it turned out, so, next time i do this I will use bigger letters. Incised with a flexcut detail knife, filled with powdered instant coffee and rubbed with BLO (I wanted to use coal but getting it is a pain - and i live in Wales)

The full poem is here Do not go gentle into that good night- Poets.org - Poetry, Poems, Bios & More with audio read by Dylan Thomas himself.

critique, as always, is welcome.

Druid

Sorry about the dog hairs but the winter coat is going

So what kind of wood did you use?? Even though I can't read the lettering on the stick, I like it......you did a very nice job.

I've made a lot of canes and walking sticks, so much that my wife said: "Enough Already"......ya, right! we'll see about that.

Boy that takes me back! When I was younger I had my name on my baseball glove in Dwarf Runes from The Hobbit, I'm still a J. R. fan. Very nice carving by the way.

Thanks JB
You must have worked that out the hard way. I used an online translator but i am happy to say i read Tolkien way before the films. The Hobbit was a school reading project and i have been hooked ever since!

Glad you like it Al.
Maybe you should do some Burns ( Robert not woodburning) on a stick.....

Actually no, don't, it's my idea

Thanks
