| | Re: Dixie tree'd That's a fair sized racoon so that hound best leave him up there. You have your own style there forest. I've been looking at a lot of carvings over the last two years and I think I can pick your carvings out from the lot...especially the way you paint them. You ought to try more theme type of scenes. The story behind your carvings is part of the appeal. Well done on the carvings.

| | Re: Dixie tree'd Forrest, great little scene! The paint is awesome as usual. Have you painted war gaming figures? You have a style that is similar to what many of those guys use.

| | Re: Dixie tree'd Hey Forrest,
Nice job on the treein' coon hound! My dad used to take me with him and his "Blue ticks", walkers, and red bones to share the joy of coon hunting. Afraid it never took with me ;O)). Am I imagining stuff or didn't you have a story with this post. I looked at the board during my lunch break and I would have sworn there was an extended tale about you being the beast of burden on these coon huntin' trips. I thought I would read it when I got home and puff it was gone! Am I mixing up this post with another or what. I know I'm old but usually not forgetful ;O) Thanks for posting.

| | Re: Dixie tree'd Yea this coon is a older adult coon, with the thicker fur and broader nose from the other coon which was a young coon,Id carved. And the dog does have a younger look to himself. The hound could have been some what bigger. Carving something new and trying to carve in the round is still new to me where as painting something as a carving, thats really easy to me.. Im glad Patrick you liked this scene and thanks for your nice comments. Forrest

| | Re: Dixie tree'd Forrest they are metal figures that you paint and then use in a game to play a war game. Many painters or really good ones use a paint technique similar to yours. Again, nice work.
