Default Display up and running.

Hi folks,

Sorry I haven't been on for a bit, but I've been busy getting a display set up and opened. Our first full day was the Thursday, July 1st, our Canada Day Celebration, and what a day it was!

Some of you may recall, the display is both a show of finished work and I'll be actively working on a project(s). The theme is ship models and some nautical carving, hosted in Ritchie Wharf, in Miramichi, New Brunswick (an old shipbuilding community on the banks of the Miramichi River) .

The day was perfect, sunny skies, warm temperatures, and lots of people. A great day for a parade, fireworks, music and dancing. For a small town/city in Eastern Canada, we had quite a crowd. Boats were tied up seven deep at the marina, crowd estimates at the wharf of about 6,000 and we estimated we had a good to 2,000 people through the display. (How I survived I'm not really sure :-/ but the rest of the summer should be quieter)

Lots of good questions, got to meet some very knowledgable and interested folks, and saw many old friends. We'll be there all summer, so if you're down our way, drop in and say hi, I'd love to talk carving with ya.

Regards from a worn out,

Bob
