Default Did anyone carve Wiebe's helicopter?

After carving Ricks helicopter, and only being able to launch it about four feet with my hands, I remembered an old device to help spin a top, and it worked.

You will need one hole a little bigger than the shaft of the helicopter, and then a bigger hole to hold the amount of string you want to wind up.

You can get about thirty-five feet out of this setup.

Good luck, Tom

Tom,

Absolute geniousity!!! I had an urge to carve this little whimsey, but foresaw the difficulty in getting enough energy transferred to the wings to make it work really well. Since you have resolved that issue, I guess now I don't have any excuse not to make one for my new grandson! Likely it'll be awhile before he's ready for it (only two days old today), but it will be there for him when he is ready.

L.P.
