| | Decoycarves screen Name I guess everyone is wondering why my screen name is decoycarve and all I seem to do is Santas. I started out doing decoys and got to the point that I was getting quite a few ribbons at shows. Then I tried one of theses darn santas and have been carving them ever since. I haven't done a decoy in about 5 years. An old customer of mine asked me to carve a decoy for him and I told him I don't do decoys anymore. After a whole lot of begging I agreed to fit a 1/3 size mallard for him as it was a gift to has dad for christmas. I dug out my old patterns and my painting notes and by gosh I still can do a decoy.
Goody

| | Re: Decoycarves screen Name I like your style, very nice paint. I'm like you, I carved ducks exclusively for a number or years, and started on birds of prey and song birds, and didn't carve any ducks for a long time. But beware, once you carve one again, you get the bug, and you have to carve more. It gets in your blood again.
