Folks, Has anyone out there had the opportunity to take a seminar from Dave Stetson (CCA founder/member)? If so, what did he teach and what were your thoughts on the seminar? Please post comments on the board or email me at GMPeiffer@aol.com. Much appreciated! Gary |

I've never taken a seminar from Dave but I've known him for quite a few years. He's a great carver, good sense of humor and always helpful to those who ask.

Gary, I have taken a couple of CCA seminars from Dave. Dave is a great teacher and has an interesting way of carving faces, especialy eyes. One seminar was a roughout of a businessman and Dave goes into great detail to explain not only what he is doing, but why. I enjoyed the seminars and Dave's sense of humor. He will help you as much as possible. I thought his seminars were well worthwhile. Jim OH |

Gary - He and Michele have stayed at my house on long trips across country so I've gotten to spend lots of delightful time carving with them. They are AMAZING. I'm slow and clumsy but Dave - with his sense of humor and KINDNESS - can even teach me new stuff. He's GOOD. I can't wait until I get to take a class from him.

I took a class from Dave several years ago. He has a sense of humor that just shines out in his carving and his teaching. Among other things, one of the most helpful things he covers in his classes is composition of the carving. He showed how to compose the carving to suggest action. Over all ,I feel that it was one of the most helpful classes I have ever taken. Be sure to ask to see his "Lady Bug Blade Covers"! |
