Default For the daughter of a friend.

The daughter of some close friends of ours was recently diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time, things are seemingly going pretty well for her but we thought she could do with her own comforting angel to help see her through her troubles. I, like many others have trouble with the female face and I couldn't quite get that serene gentle half smile that I wanted. I just hope that the recipient can overlook my shortcomings and gain the peace and comfort that she carries with her.
The angel is 4˝ inches high and carved from Tasmanian Huon Pine, the base is turned from Brown Tulip Oak.....She was carved "freehand" with no pattern which may not be one of my better ideas? But I guess I am reasonably happy with the outcome. Thanks for looking, as always, I look forward to reading your comments.
Regards All
John

Glad you like her Terry, and I really hope she brings the peace and comfort needed

Thanks for the praise Bill, and I really believe that anyone in that position is special.

Thanks for such a nice comment Jim, it's really appreciated.

Herb, I believe we are our own greatest critics, but I know I have a long way to go especially regards female faces, in fact I have just bought Harold Enlows' study stick in the hope that with enough practice I might actually carve a female face that satisfies me..........maybe
