Dennis, I'll be watching this post with interest, I didn't even know there was a book around about trolls. I'm very interested in finding that book as well.

You can follow this link to Mike's site...sure hoping to get feedback on either or both of his dvd's, the troll one is quite intersting and for a beginner, seeing is believing!

Dennis,
I bought Santa dvd at the Dayton show, from Mike.
I think if you got the dvd you could learn how to get better at carving.
I don't think you would be disapointed.

Talking Re: curious about dvd

Dennis,
Hope you don't mind me butting in here... but since I produced those DVDs (with help), I might be able to help Smile. The troll DVD was reviewed at WOM(Woodcarver's Online Magazine)...
http://carverscompanion.com/Ezine/Vo...ans/Evans.html
It might be a little biased 'cause Doug is a friend, but I told him to be brutally honest.

Both are sold at Woodcarver's Warehouse (Chris and Mark Whilloch) or The Woodcraft Shop("Big Dog" Larry Yudis) or directly from me...
http://www.borg.com/~bloomqum/DVDpage.htm
Just scroll down for both DVDs and ordering instructions.

Any other questions about specifics you might have... just ask me.

Keep on Carvin'

Default thanks

Thanks for the response....I waited but figure maybe not many onboard has seen, so I ordred both from Carvers Warehouse, figure if I learn something from each, it will be worth the cost, and the troll is something being a new carver can produce, look forward to both...I think the dvd being a hand walk thru would be a benefit to me also, a sure fire way to produce!...tks...Dennis

I ordered both disks today, I need help and I need it bad. I can do all right with spirits, but I have a real bad time with caricatures. I really am looking to work a lot on Santas so I think this tutorial will really be a big help.
