Default A couple new Wood Spirits..

It has been an interesting summer for sure. The Stonewall Jackson carving I did in the barn beam back in the spring is going to be featured in the Gallery section of the November issue of Harrisburg Magazine. The writer from the mag was at our club meeting 2 months ago and talked to some of the members for the issue. I`m excited as this will be a first for me having anything ever published on my work. Since then I have been off work for over a month with a herniated disk in my back. No surgery needed thank God, Anyway I broke out the knives and carved a couple wood spirits that I will be sharing in my first show coming up in November Thanks for looking and Enjoy...Bruce

Bruce congratulations on having your work published. It is nice to be recognized as an artist makes you feel as if your going ahead. Those knot holes are excellent love the expressions. Sorry to hear about the back but I am glad no surgery. I have herniated discs as well but there is no way on gods green earth will I let them operate on my spine. My neighbor up the street had a back operation when he was in his early thirties he is now fourty and looks like he is in his eighties. Stay away from the surgery I feel a little pain I can handle.

Bruce, FANTASTIC is the word I would use for those wood spirits, you have really done an amazing job on both pieces. I hope you do more, they are a pleasure to look at. Thanks.

Now don't you get a big head and stop chatting with us struggling carvers while your out getting famous
I like the way your woodspirits turned out - very natural and earthy looking...which basically means they turned out great.

Very nice work Bruce, couple questions for ya what did you use for tools to do the beards and hair? and where do you get your knots?
