Default Country Gnome

Id found this chunk of pine in a junk store last year sometime. Being gone with that art show last wk from Thurs-Sunday,I just had to try in carve something and I found this odd peice of wood,Id had in my art room.{Id forgotten I had it}LOL

I didnt really know what this guy looked like after Id carved him, maybe a country gnome?? If Id had a band saw I could have cut out a country type of hat in the block then carved it, which would have been better than the one I came up with!

Hes 1 1/2" X 9 " X 13 "

Feel free to comment, they are always welcome. Thks Forrest

Now he's got character! Quite a set of teeth in that grin. Not sure about the Gnome but he's a country bumkin of some sorts. Very expressive face - your paint job is great as well as the carving.

I like the hat just the way it is, and the eyes are simply amazing. What a fun project.

He could be any of those, Forrest....gnome, troll or country bumpkin....and his eyes are outstanding. They are beautiful! As always, your paint job enhances your carving tremendously. I don't know how you do it! Bonnie
