Don't ask me how this happened, but this carving started out as a Gnome home. I was putting in a couple roof lines and one of them ran into trouble with crumbly wood. I had started a pumpkin that was going to set in front of the house and when the roof went bad I suddenly saw a witch sitting on the pumpkin. I named it "the Mother inlaw" but it has no resemblance to my Mother Inlaw.Smile |

Don, Great job on the transition. we never make mistakes, just continue to make modifications. Bye the way, nice touch on the disclaimer. Bill

Don, Very unique to say the least! I'll bet it's the first cottenwood bark witch ever..And it looks like the cat ate her hat too. Tom H

Hmmmm, however it happened, it turned out great! Thanks for sharing her with us! DeborahP.S. Just curious, what does 'the' mother-in-law think of her?! |

Deborah and Mark The Mother Inlaw has not seen her yet but she will. The carving is not really that big, it measures 5 inches wide by 11 inches tall and is 2 3/4 inches thick. It is a side profile and really did start out as a gnome home. I hate to ruin a good peice of bark and will make something work even if the original plan gets screwed up. I have a dragon I started about a year ago, but haven't got a good plan to finish it. Someday.......... Thinking about starting another witch. Kind of a fun carving to do Always looking for something a little different to try. |
