Default Corner Carving Mountain Man

Carving on the corner is popular with many Santa carvers. The triangular shape lends itself to many forms including wizards, elves and witches. Not wanting to do "just another Santa", I came up with this 18th century mountain man. I started doing different things on the back of these after taking a Millard Harrel class two years back. This one got an early powder horn. It might be interesting to see what others are carving "on the corner" beside the aforementioned. Thanks for looking.

Nice, Ed, I like the idea of the powder horn on the back. I haven't done much on the corner, a moon (hangs on the xmas tree). I have a box full of corners left from processing basswood blanks for another carver, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I couldn't enlarge the pics Ed...but from what I can see, they look pretty darn good. I use corners a lot if I'm using dried wood. I have 10 corner blanks in my shop ready to put faces into. Nice idea with the powder horn in the back.
