Congratulations!

| | Re: Congrats Teri Thanks to all of you (even Rick, who continues to keep me humble). You're right, Greg - you just might see something like "when prayers collide" ending up in one of my pieces :-)

Hopefully we won't get thrown off for talking about the competition. They're talking about issue #12 which hasn't hit me in Vermont yet either.

| | Re: Congrats Teri Come on guys...Give me some credit! I started this thread <grin>.
I'm not too territorial (that said, Colin, don't you dare write an article for them <grin>)--I'd rather recognize a good carver who's work is highlighted anywhere!
Hugh, don't you have a couple more articles scheduled with Carving Magazine? (I stoped using "them" because it sounded too ominious<grin>).

| | Re: Congrats Teri Just got mine today and your work is most uniquely yours. After admiring the two page (yes, TWO page) spread of your work inside the magazine I can only say that you have certainly arrived at a style of carving that is yours and yours alone.
Just like a lot of the carvers who so graciously and regularly post their work here on the forum I'm sure that I would quickly recognize your work if I ever crossed it on the street... well, maybe in the gallery that is :-) It's so amazing to me how each of our own carving styles develops over time depending upon our own unique life experiences, perceptions of the world around us, and how we tend to express just who we are through our carvings.
You most certainly have arrived at the destination, yet on the same hand have only begun to scratch the surface of the yet to be discovered potential within yourself. While you have achieved a very high level of expression never stop searching for that next "level".
You are an inspiration. Thanks for sharing! |

| | Re: Congrats Teri LOL - thanks so much, all of you. You make me smile. I'm going to print out this entire thread and hang it over my workbench - such kind words from good carving friends are sure to bring inspiration when I need it most.
Hugs to all,

| | Re: Congrats Teri Dear Teri, I am really happy for your success. When I first started checking out this site, you were carving on 2x4's, but starting to work with basswood and not sure you liked it much. I guess wood just loves you. I remember someone dumping on you because you posted too much. Well look at you now, girl. I have always been a big fan of your work, and consider you to be a true inspiration to keep whacking away and always improve. Kudo's, kudo's, kudo's; onward and upward. By the way, you are way too modest, but I guess that is part of what makes you so charming.
