My posts seem out of place here as they were in response to earlier posts before the sad news about your son.....I am very sorry, there isn't much one can say about the loss of a child whatever the age...its not in our makeup to outlive our children...I am estremely sorry and may God give you peace and peace for your whole family!

Sharon - So sorry to hear about your son. I myself am turning 46 in a few days, and have been confronting thoughts about my own mortality lately in the wake of several deaths in and around our family. Just two weeks ago a family that we used to be very close to before we and they moved to other parts of the country, lost the husband to a sudden massive heart attack. He was only 56. I have never had blood pressure problems, but I have been battling high cholesterol and sleep apnea for years, and I am not very good about restricting my diet, nor about exercise. It is very sobering to realize that when our time is up - its up. That's it. Thus it serves as a very strong reminder to treasure every moment we have to appreciate the beauty we discover around us in this world, and the family and friends we've been blessed with. There are times lately, when my teens (4) have been getting on my nerves and all I want to do is get away and carve or indulge in what *I* want. I constantly have to remind myself that my time to spend with them is not endless, and may be cut much shorter than I think. As it says in the Bible - there 3 things that last - FAITH, HOPE, and LOVE and the greatest of these is LOVE. My prayers are directed your way Sharon that you may be granted the peace and memories of many love filled times with your son, and that these may serve to inspire your carvings and fill them with the love you have for your son. Sincerely, ChuckT Sorry if I have wandered too far off topic in this forum. |
